Founded in 2016, after meeting at a marching band camp at school in Greenville, South Carolina, it was hard for Carter Brady and Austen Pruner not to try playing music with each other. Brady, a NY native and accomplished rock, blues & jazz guitarist, met Pruner, a Rock Hill drum guru, who then decided to form a band together. They then added rhythm guitarist Nick Yurco, bassist Alex Webster, and Holden Jain to sing the other set of vocals. After brainstorming a band name for about a half an hour in one of their dining halls, Brady looked outside at the well-renowned scenery of the Furman lake, and saw a school of ducks swimming by. It was there that he just shouted the words “Duck Pond!” Everyone then agreed and was satisfied by the name choice. The five have gone on to play numerous talent shows, homecoming and campus fundraisers, and local Greenville gigs, all of which were successful and some with different lineups and requested styled setlists. As far as overall sound, the band has a unique mix of 90's alternative revival rock, blues, and jazz given the many influences from each of the band members.
